The new RS6 is not yet on the streets in the US but European enthusiasts get to sample it first. Early acceleration tests showed the new RS6 is quick but it is not dropping any jaws in stock form. HGP tuned the EA825 V8 ECU and these are their Stage 1 results. Now, they did not post their 100-200 kph baseline but we will go with 8.77 stock which another source posted. HGP shows a 6.7 second sprint which is roughly a full two seconds quicker than stock: That's certainly an impressive improvement and it starts to put the RS6 in some elite company. HGP claims 786 metric horsepower and 786 lb-ft of torque. Keep in mind this is very early tuning on the platform but so far so good.

There were some who thought Volkswagen might get aggressive with the MK8 generation Volkswagen Golf and really attempt to appeal to enthusiasts. There was even discussion about a 400+ horsepower Golf R Plus that would really make a splash. Well, table your expectations. The MK8 Golf GTI gets 241 horsepower and the Golf R gets 329 horsepower. These increases are so modest the MK7 model can easily eclipse the figures with software tuning only. Expect minor revisions to the EA888 2.0 liter architecture.

The GT500's sure are going to be a handful. This Porsche 997.2 Turbo certainly is no slouch with an AMS Alpha 9 package (750+ awhp) but it is a manual transmission example. It certainly looks like shift speed plays a large part in its demise. This GT500 recently set the Predator V8 platform quickest and fastest records so it is roughly a 145 mile per hour car. In this video though it has a 2.65 pulley and not the 2.5 it ran for the records. You see the Porsche start well but as soon as it shifts it falls back. The GT500 just keeps pulling and makes seemingly easy work of the 911 Turbo. Let's see some runs against PDK variants. GT500 mods: 2.65 pulley Lethal race pipe 1050x injectors E85 tune from Palm beach dyno Porsche 911 mods: AMS Alpha 9 package Intercooler upgrade Fuel system Stage 2 clutch Stock engine MS109 race fuel 20-24 lbs of boost 750+ WHP

The quickest and fastest 1/4 mile record for the new Ford Shelby GT500 Mustang is going to be broken and broken again seemingly every other day. We have a new quickest pass here at 9.708 seconds and a new fastest pass at 145.09 miles per hour. Mod list: - 2.5 pulley - Lethal Track Exhaust - Injector Dynamics 1050x Pump - E85 - Toyo R888R - Palm Beach Dyno tune This is just the beginning but 145+ miles per hour with bolt ons sure is nice: Note, the 9.70 ET slip is not yet posted but the pass is in the video below: Congratulations to those involved and let's see how quickly this is one-upped:

Without the CFTP the GT500 offers a better performance per dollar ratio.

So how quick is 100-200 kilometers per hour in 7.07 seconds in context? A Ferrari 458 Spider takes 7.4 seconds. A Porsche 991.1 Turbo S takes roughly 7.2 seconds. A Lamborghini Aventador LP-700-4 will do it in 6.3 seconds. A 2012 Nissan GT-R needs 7.8 seconds. This is an SUV running C6 Corvette ZR1 times: And we are talking about a 3.5 seconds improvement over stock (which is huge namely for an SUV). This thing is fast for a Stage 1 tune only and GPF (Gasoline Particulate Filter) delete.

The wheels are wide enough. I'll take the lower rotational inertia which adds up over a lap.

How do you know it's not the rubber? The GT500 is obviously much quicker and faster. The Camaro isn't accelerating better. It just has to pray for traction and having driven an LT4 that motor is impossible to put the power down with. The Ford is the better performer although Chevy deserves credit for the skidpad figure. Even so, it won't win around the track.

Almost 160 miles per hour out of the factory turbochargers without any nitrous assist? Unreal! This was achieved by Ekanoo Racing in Bahrain. The status of the Bahrain drag strip may make this run questionable for some. Regardless, it is the quickest and fastest slip posted to date: All achieved on the factory ECU using the M-Engineering OBD-II software suite. In addition, the car was run on race gas with catless downpipes and aftermarket air filters. The fastest overall remains 160.54 miles per hour but that was set with nitrous. 8.855 seconds is now the overall quickest M840T pass and 159.53 is the fastest factory turbo only pass. Impressive work and well done.
